  • information associated with Apple or Google login where you choose to use those options.

Authentication may occur through email-based authentication or supported third-party sign-in services.

Onboarding and preference information

We may collect information you provide during onboarding or through account settings in order to personalize your experience.

This may include:

  • notification timing;
  • notification frequency;
  • prayer preferences;
  • Daily Verse preferences;

Public prayers

Public prayer requests may be displayed on the Prayer Board and may be visible to other Anoint users.

Private prayers

Private prayers are not displayed on the public Prayer Board and are intended to be visible only to the user who submitted them.

Authorized Anoint administrators may access private prayers when reasonably necessary for:

  • customer support;
  • moderation;
  • troubleshooting;
  • security;

Only photographs personally taken by the submitting user may be submitted to Anoint.

By submitting a photograph, you affirm that you personally took that photograph and grant Anoint permission to use it as described in our Terms of Service.

Submitted photographs may be publicly displayed, distributed, shared, modified, combined with Scripture, and used in connection with Anoint's operation, marketing, advertising, social media, App Store or Google Play materials, and other promotional activities as described in the Terms of Service.

We may receive subscription-related information from Apple, Google, and RevenueCat, including:

  • subscription status;
  • subscription product;
  • trial status;
  • renewal status;
  • expiration status;
  • transaction identifiers;
  • entitlement information; and
  • information necessary to determine access to paid features.

We do not directly receive or store your complete payment card information for App Store or Google Play purchases.

Anoint and our service providers may automatically receive certain technical information necessary to operate the Service.

This may include:

2. Location Information

Anoint does not currently collect precise GPS location for purposes of displaying your location in the Service.

General location information displayed with a user or photograph, such as state, province, region, or country, is based on information the user provides during onboarding or through account settings.

3. Contacts

Anoint does not access or read your phone contacts.

If you choose to share content or invite someone, Anoint may open the standard sharing functionality provided by your iOS or Android device.

You decide which application or recipient receives the content.

4. How We Use Information

We may use information to:

  • create and manage user accounts;
  • authenticate users;
  • provide prayer features;
  • display public prayers;
  • store private prayers;
  • facilitate prayer interactions;
  • allow users to mark prayers as answered;

  • maintain and improve Anoint;
  • comply with legal obligations;

  • protect Anoint, our users, and third parties.

5. Public Information

Information you choose to make public through Anoint may be visible to other users and may be shared outside the Service.

This may include:

Photographs submitted through Anoint may be displayed to the Anoint community for voting and may be used in Daily Verse experiences.

Submitted photographs may be:

  • displayed in Anoint;
  • shown during community voting;
  • selected as a Daily Verse image;
  • combined with Bible verses, graphics, branding, or text;

  • used on Anoint's social media;
  • used in App Store or Google Play listings;
  • used in advertising;
  • used in promotional materials; and
  • otherwise used as permitted under the photograph license in the Terms of Service.

A photograph may continue to exist outside Anoint after it has been downloaded, shared, screenshotted, or distributed.

Anoint generally cannot control copies that have already been saved or shared by another person or third-party platform.

Deleting your account does not automatically revoke the photograph license previously granted under the Terms of Service.

9. Website Analytics, Cookies, and Advertising Technologies

The Anoint marketing website may use cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies.

We expect to use services including:

  • Google Analytics;
  • Meta Pixel; and
  • TikTok Pixel.

These services may collect information including:

  • IP address;
  • browser type;
  • device information;
  • pages viewed;

10. Advertising and Sale of Personal Information

Anoint does not sell personal information for monetary compensation.

Anoint does not currently display third-party advertising inside the Anoint mobile application.

However, the Anoint marketing website may use Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel, Google Analytics, and similar technologies.

Certain privacy laws may define some transfers through advertising technologies as "sharing," "sale," or "targeted advertising" even where no money changes hands.

Where applicable law requires it, we will provide users with applicable rights or opt-out mechanisms.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • provide the Service;

When an account is deleted, we will remove the user's profile and associated prayers and photographs from active Anoint systems as reasonably practicable.

We may retain limited information where reasonably necessary for:

  • legal compliance;
  • fraud prevention;
  • abuse prevention;
  • security;
  • financial or transaction recordkeeping;
  • dispute resolution;
  • enforcement of our agreements; or
  • reasonable backup and disaster-recovery processes.

Deleting your account does not necessarily remove copies of public content that have already been:

  • downloaded;
  • screenshotted;
  • shared;
  • forwarded;
  • posted on another platform; or
  • saved by another user.

Deletion of your account also does not automatically revoke rights previously granted under the photograph license contained in the Terms of Service.

13. Children's Privacy

Anoint is not intended for children under 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the Service.

Where applicable law establishes a higher minimum age for use of a service like Anoint without parental authorization, users must satisfy that higher requirement.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child in violation of applicable law, we may delete the information and terminate the associated account.

If you believe a child has provided personal information to Anoint contrary to this Privacy Policy, contact:

info@getanoint.com

info@getanoint.com

We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before processing certain requests.

  • deletion;
  • data portability;
  • opting out of targeted advertising;
  • opting out of certain sales or sharing; and
  • other rights established by applicable law.

Anoint does not sell personal information for monetary compensation.

Because the Anoint marketing website may use advertising technologies such as Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel, certain transfers associated with those technologies may be treated as "sharing," "sale," or targeted advertising under some state laws.

Where required, Anoint will provide applicable opt-out mechanisms.
